UK’s TOP FASHION DESIGNERS TO SHOW IN TRINIDAD
Satellites of Fashion, a major exhibition of contemporary hats, bags and shoes by the UK’s top avant-garde designers is to make its world debut in the Caribbean and will arrive in Trinidad on 15th December 2000, before moving on to Venezuela, Brazil and Europe.

According to the British Council, who are bringing the exhibition to Trinidad:
"This is an exhibition with a difference - hats flutter and spin, shoes talk and mumble and handbags hold sinister secrets – prepare to be surprised!
"You will be able to see the work of British designers such as Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo and Vivienne Westwood whose designs are worn by an array of Hollywood celebrities, including Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz."

Satellites of Fashion is the first exhibition to explore and celebrate the fusion between the two worlds of hand-made crafts and high fashion. This title was chosen because accessories are worn at the extremities of the body - the head, feet and hands. Like a satellite, accessories give out direct – and often colourful – messages about the wearer.

Satellites of Fashion was displayed in The Main Gallery at CCA7 from December 15th, 2000 to January 20th, 2001.
